Bring the Pope to Justice - Newsweek, May 3, 2010.
http://www.newsweek.com/id/236934
a thousand children the world over have been abused by priests and still the Catholic church under the pope is not taking any action. Parents are scared to send their children to church ..
Quote - The Holy father seems to have been lenient with criminals while reserving his severity for those who complained about them. - unquote
With litigation coming up in the European Court of Human Rights and the International Criminal Court, where even the Pope may have to appear in person to testify and fight for his paedophile priests, the going is getting tough .. The sovereign immunity which His Holiness is claiming as head of the Vatican City is being used a shield to cover up paedophiles in the church. No more will that tactic hold ...

IPL, Modi and other issues ..
With IPL and its administration in deep shit with allegations, counter allegations, sleaze, muck being thrown at others etc.. it is time we did an instrospection of what this is all about..
ge ..
Here is a good article why we should try to improve the affairs of IPL and not let it die in the quagmire of politics, mudslinging, JPC etc....
The suspended IPL Commissioner Modi may be acting immature and has very murky history, is arrogant and money has gone to his head, but IPL should not be affected because of one iresponsible individual ..

Children and lovers of Priests to sue Catholic church ..
The Catholic Church will have a tough time trying to defend the source of the hush money they have paid to lovers and children of Catholic priests in US ..
The established conventional Catholic church will find it difficultto arrange the money to pay the illegitimate children who will sue the Catholic Church amounting to billions of dollars ..
The problem in India may not be of that magnified but it raises serious questions of who is to be believed and who not?

Home made paper ..
Shred the waste paper and soak it overnight in water. Blend it in a mixer-grinder with a paste of fenugreek (methi) seeds. For colour, add natural colouring agents like Turmeric powder (Haldi), etc. Put water in a pan with a wire-mesh inside. Pour a cup of the blended paper pulp over the mesh and spread it evenly. Lift the mesh and drain the water. Place the mesh on one side of an open newspaper and close the newspaper. Carefully flip the newspaper so that the mesh is on top of the pulp. Press a flat wooden board on the newspaper to squeeze out water. Open the newspaper and take out the mesh. Keep the newspaper open for drying. Dried leaves and petals can be spread on the sheet while it is wet. Once dried, peel off the sheet from the newspaper. Lightly iron the sheet under a piece of moist muslin cloth. |
Tata's air car ..
Tata Motors to introduce Air Car - Is it the next big thing?
Tata Motors is taking giant strides and making history for itself. First the
Landrover-Jaguar deal, then the world's cheapest car and now it is also set
to introduce the car that runs on air, compressed air.
With spiralling fuel prices it is about time we heard some breakthrough!
India's largest automaker Tata Motors is set to start producing the world's
first commercial air-powered vehicle.
The Air Car, developed by ex-Formula One engineer Guy Nègre for
Luxembourg-based MDI, uses compressed air, as opposed to the gas-and-oxygen
explosions of internal-combustion models, to push its engine's pistons. Some
6000 zero-emissions Air Cars are scheduled to hit Indian streets by August
2010.
The Air Car, called the MiniCAT could cost around Rs. 3,50,000 ($ 8177) in
India and would have a range of around 300 km between refuels.
The cost of a refill would be about Rs. 85 ($ 2).
The MiniCAT which is a simple, light urban car, with a tubular chassis that
is glued not welded and a body of fiberglass powered by compressed air.
Microcontrollers are used in every device in the car, so one tiny radio
transmitter sends instructions to the lights, indicators etc.
There are no keys - just an access card which can be read by the car from
your pocket. According to the designers, it costs less than 50 rupees per
100Km (about a tenth that of a petrol car). Its mileage is about double that
of the most advanced electric car (200 to 300 km or 10 hours of driving), a
factor which makes a perfect choice in cities where the 80% of motorists
drive at less than 60Km. The car has a top speed of 105 kmph. Refilling the
car will, once the market develops, take place at adapted petrol stations to
administer compressed air.
In two or three minutes, and at a cost of approximately 100 rupees, the car
will be ready to go another 200-300 kilometers.
As a viable alternative, the car carries a small compressor which can be
connected to the mains (220V or 380V) and refill the tank in 3-4 hours. Due
to the absence of combustion and, consequently, of residues, changing the
oil (1 litre of vegetable oil) is necessary only every 50,000Km).
The temperature of the clean air expelled by the exhaust pipe is between
0-15 degrees below zero, which makes it suitable for use by the internal air
conditioning system with no need for gases or loss of power.

Nuclear Security Summit in Washington DC ..
President Barack Obama and presidents, prime ministers and other top officials from 47 countries start work Monday on a battle plan to keep nuclear weapons out of terrorist hands.
ge ..
Who is responsible for this state of affairs ? which terror supporting country has done maximum nuclear proliferation damage, who has supplied Iran with nuke technology and equipments ? How did North Korea get nuke technology ?? Sadly all these countries are allies of US .. Keeping nuclear weapons off their hands is the most immediate agenda ..
Closing eyes to all proliferation all these years by its closest allies, when US policy boomerangs and they find it difficult to make their allies behave, it cries for world attention and world advice..
Quote : On the eve of what would be the largest assembly of world leaders hosted by an American president since 1945 — the San Francisco conference to found the United Nations — Obama said nuclear materials in the hands of al-Qaida or another terrorist group "could change the security landscape in this country and around the world for years to come." Unquote ..
While the world is looking forward to a future of non-proliferation and nuclear materials not falling in terrorist hands, afallout of its selective amnesia policy in the East, the secret agenda I understand, is to enforce a fourth round of sanctions against Iran for its non-compliance to stop nuclear material processing .. China is also throwing its weight behind US to stop Iran from being a nuclear power.

GSLV D3 on Cryogenic Engine ..
The whole nation is awaiting with baited breath for April 15 at 4 30 PM when India's GSLV D3 with own indigenously developed cryogenic engine (19 years to develop, a big thanks should go to US for putting pressure on Russia to deny cryo tech to us, triggering indigenous research ) will blast to space, with GSAT IV satellite, asserting India's supremacy once again in heavy launches.
India will be one among a select list of countries to have its own cryogenic technology along with US, Russia, Japan, France and China.

The rocket is already on the launchpad at Sriharikotta. VSSC has developed the rocket, ISRO Centre in Bangalore the satellite and LPSC, Mahendragiri, the cryogenic engine.. Together we can ...!!
Being patriotic is a birthright ..I do not know how anybody could think otherwise .. Was Obama not in his senses to harp on patriotism in his addresses ?... He is no less a human ..

16 th anniversary of the Rwandan genocide ..
The 16 th anniversary of the genocide in Rwanda in 1994 between Hutu and Tutsi tribes is being celebrated this year.
The UN insteead of helping prevent the strife, actually withdrew the UN peace keeping forces from 4000 to 400 and helped the Tutsi be butchered in the hands of the dominant and ruling Hutu tribe in Rwanda.
In a matter of just two months a million of Tutsi tribesmen were butchered, men, women and children alike.. I was talking to a Rwandan student in my college, 6 million Jews were massacred by Germans and Axis forces in 5 years during the second world war, a million of Rwandans were butchered in 2 months by fellow Rwandans !! 7 April to 20 July 1994.
It is one of the most dastardly acts of negligence carried out by the UN and other developed countries of the world in the last decade of the twentieth century. If the UN forces remained back, half or 70% of the murdered people would have been alive today !!
After the Tutsi tribe has regained power in Rwanda, they have adopted a policy of forgiveness and is out to stop any such genocide in any other part of the world. The tragedy which hit Rwanda should not happen to any other country of the world, never again in Rwanda , not at all ..
Let us show our solidarity with Rwanda .. Attend he meeting organised by the Rwandan students association in bangalore at Sambharam group of institutions on 10 April at 3 PM.

Operation Green Hunt - one that failed miserably..
Dantewada, Chattisgarh - 76 CRPF jawans paid with their lives in the latest ambush by Maoists ( CPI-ML) cadres on a convoy of CRPF jawans who were returning from a combing operation of the Dantewada forests in Chattisgarh state.
The worst attack by Maoists on the state so far. One that will be remembered for many years to come ..
The gory incident is just starting coming out to the press. The account of one of the survivors who had to pretend to be dead to tell the tale of the cruelty of Maoists who culled down the jawans one by one has caught the conscience of the nation.
Is Arundhati Roy listening ?

Fifty years back the fourth largest inland sea in the world, after Caspian Sea, Lake superior and Lake Victoria, the environemntal diaster is beyond words..
From 67000 sq km it has shrunk to less than 30,000 sq km, mainly in the South region where uzbekhistan uses the water from its feeder rivers for irrigating its cotton crops and thus depriving the lake of its water resources.
