Can a change of outlook of Banks help, not just favouring the rich defaulter ....

2012 analysis on NPA of banks ..
There is a big anomaly in how the banks approach loan defaulters. A very sincere businessman can become a loan defaulter for reasons beyond his/her control most of the time, due to market conditions, arrival of good quality imported competing products, obsolescence of product, technology improvement or change, political uncertainty etc..

Govt and banks give a gentle warning to big defaulters, while they go hammer and tongs against small defaulters, confiscating their property, material stock, freezing deposits, stopping line of credit etc which leads to sudden and abrupt collapse of business. Are banks aware of CUSTOMER SERVICE even to a small extent as to make the customer feel that he is being served ?

Banks need to seriously ponder over these points.
1. Have banks carried out a study as to why sincere loan applicants turn defaulters overnight ?
2. Have bank personnel been told that the money theu handle (other than private banks) belong top the tax payer of the country and it is their prime duty to hand hold the customers if they pass through critical times in their career ?
3. Why is that banks and govts have such a differentiated, inversely proportional default-severity-impact approach to defaulters in general ?
4. Does being harsh with strong penal action on the tiny defaulter make the big shark any more strongly remorseful of his guilt and make him voluntarily pay up ?
In practice it is seen that there is no such impact. The more smaller defaulters are being harassed, the bigger sharks escape and continue to misuse public funds, without any feeling of guilt or remorse.Te banks need to look at this peculiar development happening in India.
5. How do private banks (where there is more accountability of funds as unlike public banks where the tax payer's money is not handled with much caution and care) handle their big defaulters ?
6. Of the total amount dispersed what is the general ratio of non-productive assets to total assets of the private bank ?
7. It also makes sense to find how public banks in other countries manage to take care of this risk of assets turning non-productive over time ?
8. How do those countries ensure there is prompt pay off of the capital and less risk of an asset turning non-productive ?
9. If an aggrieved bank customer feels that he has been prejudicially moved against by the bank, resulting in his business being wound up, how can the capital repayment be initiated with least pain for both bank and the valuable customer with least of legal hurdles toppling any moves of reconciliation?

Entrepreneurs and farmers are the people who create wealth and employment in the country, THE PRIME MOVERS OF THE COUNTRY ! The employees of banks are just employees and servants of the public, their job is to serve the customers ! They are contributing least in the development of the economy and the growth of the country than adhering to disciplinary ways of dealing with the customers.

The stress on the banks who take pains to liquidate a good "small" customer on charges of his missing one or two instalments, should be not to see how the business can be wound up, instead should focus on how the entrepreneur could be handheld to become more profitable and viable in the long run.

The bank officials should be taught that their job is not to boss around with the tax payers money, instead handhold the customer through his difficult times. He is not just custodian to tax payer's money, but to see how productively they could be managed for the common good and to keep track of what proportion of their capital is invested in sunshine sectors offering good rates of return, while taking care of low performing , employment intensive sectors.

A new metric on banks as to what proportion of non-performing assets have been transformed to productive assets (NPA2PA conversion ratio) in that branch / region / head office etc.need to be taken up.The NPA to PA conversion ratio, will make sure that banks don't proceed severely on defaulters's assets which in spite of their best intentions have turned non-productive due to factors beyond one's control. The bank should in turn try to see how they can handhold the stressed customer and guide him to better performance and productivity.

For this it is also essential that banks have experts who can help guide sick industries to good health. Banks only have the penal action for customers, they do not have any medicine to take care of customers.

How banks can take care of this differential approach to NPA handling.
1. Banks need to gve more detailed attention to differentiate between a not-so serious defaulter and a serious defaulter.
2. Banks should take penal action on all types of defaulters equally without any partiality.
3. If under an region or a branch, the incidence of NPAs is a matter of serious concern, then explanation should be asked of the officer handling the customer, irrespective of the size of the customers default
4. Rather than looking at penalising actions against customers, banks need to design and implement proative and productive steps to see  how existing sick accountscould be salvaged.
5. Have industry experts / elderly bankers employees as customer assisting officers whose main job is to handhold stressed customers at all times.

This is the only way banks can get a customer friendly image and help the customers, the entrepreneurs, who are the real prime movers of the economy.

Vittal's wasted legacy from deadly liquor trade..

Value less Vittal Mallya, where money meant
everything

Would Vijay Mallya have been better off without Vittal and UB ? If Vittal had not entered the deadly liquor trade, would this fate have befallen Vijay ? If Vittal had values, would his son have been pushed to this predicament now ?

Some serious questions the tax payers of the country would seek a frank answer from the bureaucratic / political / financial sector in the country .

1. Did Vittal Mallya, the late spirit king father of Vijay Mallya, make this mess of Vijay as we see now ?

2. Would Vijay have made a better businessman had Vittal not spoiled son Vijay with all the riches and a hollow, value-less upbringing ?

3. If Vittal had been in any other business than in the business of killing people with deadly spirit, would his son Vijay become such a notorious playboy and an irresponsible vagabond, duping banks and tax payers of the country without any feeling of remorse or guilt at his irresponsible actions ?

4. If Vittal Mallya had cared for the health of the people around and stopped trading and brewing deadly brew, would Vijay have become such an irresponsible, reckless, foolhardy, impetuous person as he makes himself to be presently ?

5. If son Sidharth is to be saved from the same predicament of irresponsible, deviant behaviour of his father and grand father, wasting the money of tax payers in the country, what should he be doing ?

Let this also be a lesson to the other foolhardy businessmen of the country who through their devious ways try to outsmart others, finally end up in deep shit like Vijay Mallya finds himself now. Anil Ambani, Anil Agarwal, Ruia brothers, Adani and Jaiprakash Gaur and son Manoj Gaur, Vijay is a baby considering what all of the other big five owe to the banks.

Better payup and behave before the people of this country will be forced to do something drastic to get back their precious tax money wasted by an equally colluding and corrupt bank management ..

This is an important lesson to "respectable families" who indulge in dealing in liquor to make easy money. My advice to them is repent and give up indulging in that business, do not take the curse of thousands of families who have been orphaned by these businesses.

Save the future of the world, save the country !

Importance to women in Orthodox society ..

Pope Francis washing feet of woman refugee, 25 March 2016 ..
A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way  - John C. Maxwell
Pope Francis, Head of 1200 million
Catholics

The Catholic church, or at least their Supreme Head has shown the guts three years back to wash the feet of women prisoners from a Roman prison.

Click here for the news and pics ..

The Catholic church in India has big difference of opinion with Pope Francis who this year will go out of the way and wash refugees feet, including women.

Pope Francis did not wait for a divine revelation to consider women as equals with men. Nowadays in society, more so in Western societies, we find women are the bread winners for the family and men are the parasites. But our male chauvinistic mindset will not permit us to accept this fact and truth in society.
Catholica Bawa of Indian Orthodox
Church, Kottayam, India.

We have a great forward looking Catholicos, but a not so forward looking decision making body. Male chauvinism rules in our churches. Our male chauvinists in the church do not consider women as equals. If we do not consider women as equal to men and do not treat them with respect, a day will come when we will all repent.

Our "elder, sensible" Head Priests should ponder over this and take a fitting decision to uplift half of Indian Orthodox believers, women who constitute 50% of 2 million of them, about ten lakhs. By this action, we are also respecting half of humanity, roughly 3300 million women on planet earth, and give them their due importance in society.

In our prayers we eulogise and glorify Mother Mary, but we and our church leaders, fail to walk the talk. Our greatest mistake !!

It is high time we rectify it, lest the future generations point fingers at us.

Green cricket at chinnaswamy stadium Bangalore- solar panels

The eastern roof of the stadium has solar panels
view of the solar panels..
India is going ahead with the solar power plant atop the Chinnaswamy stadium in Bangalore India making it the first cricket stadium in the world to do so. The 0.4 MW solar power plant built at a cost of rs 3 crores has a payback period of 5 years and the remaining 20 years there will no expense for energy purpose.

Presently only 30% of energy is being harvested by solar means, by placing solar panels on the eastern roof of the stadium. By placing panels on the western side of the roof, the power generation is being planned to be increased to 1.2 MW.

With an efficient waste water and effluent treatment plant along with effective rain water conservation systems, this stadium is a model of a green stadium in the world.

Way to go ..

An obituary for Dr. Mathai Mathew

A death is not the extinguishing of a light,
but the putting out of the lamp
because the dawn has come.
    Life is given to us,
we earn it by giving it.

Let the dead have the immortality of fame,
but the living the immortality of love.
Life's errors cry for the merciful beauty
that can modulate their isolation into a
    harmony with the whole.

Life, like a child, laughs, shaking its rattle of death as it runs

Original owners of land in US and in India, treatment difference ..

While US claims to be a great democracy, it has systematically and in a carefully planned manner annihilated, massacred, decimated, murdered and killed by intentionally planting the small pox virus, the original owners of the land, the American Indians from app. 100 million in 1500 AD to less than 5 million now !! (source Wikipedia) ..

The biggest planned and organised massacre in the history of mankind  by the white European settlers, much more demonic than the 6 million Jews killed in the holocaust during the early 1940s by the Nazis ..

There cannot be a more  blessed country than US in this world, cause the curse and blood of these 95 million original owners of North America will be peacefully borne by none other than the present day settlers - the immigrants and their future generations ..

And when we in India, we have also been settlers here 9000 years back, from a socially and culturally rich civilization, care for and try to integrate our original owners of the land for millennia and bring them to mainstream society, the tribals and the aborigines, by means of reservation in education and jobs, the racial minded and  ignoramuses among us raise objections and resort to violence.

How shameful ? .. 🙏🙏 Do we also want the same fate as what is going to befall on the barbaric North American immigrant settlers ?

Pharoah Tutankhamen and Queen (mother) Nefertiti.

King Tut's recreation of what he was like ..
The excitement from King Tutankhamun does not seem to end any time soon. What initially started in 1920s with British Archeologist Howard Carter excavating in Egypt, the recent studies done with the help of scanners etc reveal that the world is not yet finished with the Pharoahs dynasty and are to see more of it in the coming years.

King Tutankhamun's mummified face .. 3300 year old.
It is really encouraging to see how our forefathers lived and nurtured their beliefs three thousand three hundred years back, around 1300 BC.

The search to find the secrret resting place of Queen Nefertiti seems to have been almost over with some of the stones in King Tut's chamber having vacant space behind them and traces of organic matter, which may point to the grave of Nefertiti and the untold riches that it may contain.

Does the tomb of the Egyptian boy king, Pharoah Tutankhamen, who lived around 1300 BC, and discovered around 1920-30s, have more secret chambers belonging to Queen Nefertiti ?

Great surprises will be revealed in the coming days from Egypt..

Let the real kingfisher fly away - End of Mallya and Kingfisher saga ..

Let the real Kingfisher fly away !!
The "easy" money earned by Vittal Mallya and handed over to his son Vijay Mallya and through him to grandson Sidharth Mallya by their liquor business, is but a reflection of the sordid tale of lives and families that have been destroyed and broken by liquor.. !!

The curse of a million families who continue to suffer .. The Mallyas cannot wash their hands off the bad name they have earned and disservice done to society to make a quick buck.

The father son duo, due to wrong choices they took at different stages in their life, are undergoing the consequences now.

Beware, every choice has a consequence !
My advice to other liquor barons is, you can make quick money, but beware, the consequences will chase you through your life. One can flaunt the ill wealth no doubt, and can flaunt it for some time, but one will be held accountable for all one's actions into the future.

Make the choices most beneficial to fellow
humans, you wont have to repent for it one day !
So be fair and upright in your choices, make intelligent choices, let it be beneficial to society, the consequences will also be palatable.

Dr. Roshan John of TCS Bangalore and his budding driverless car research ..

Tata Nano Autonomous ..
Meet Bangalore based Dr Roshan John and his robotic team from TCS.

Will he surprise the world with his cost innovation model and idea ingenuity like ISRO did with Mangalyaan ? PM Modi and Cyrus Mistry, Ratan Tata team  should go out of the way and support this individual and his great team .. Tata Motors gets great publicity when Roshan himself speaks of the superior design features of Tata Nano like the rear engine design and compact shape !!
Roshan (centre) and his team

Lot of our fellow opinionated Indians who have migrated to other lands in search of money and riches will opine that Roshan is too silly competing with the likes of Google. They also want that his idea fails, so that they can walk around holding their heads high saying, nothing ever solid can come out of India.

Like the ISRO Mangalyaan, which rubbished all NASA claims of exclusivity and top notch research, we are sure Roshan and team this time, can display once again the great Indian brains, cost innovation potential and shame the prejudiced developed world ..

Pranaam sir !! No words are enough !!

5S and visual factory ..

Japanese Production System, especially Toyota Production Systems start by having a properly organised and clean workplace. Who do these 5S stand for ?

5S is a workplace organization method that uses a list of five Japanese words:
seiri - sort (整理)
seiton - set in order (整頓)
seisō - shine (清掃)
seiketsu - standardize (清潔)
shitsuke - sustain ()

These have been translated as "sort", "set in order", "shine", "standardize", and "sustain". The list describes how to organize a work space for efficiency and effectiveness by identifying and storing the items used, maintaining the area and items, and sustaining the new order. - wikipedia..

It is said 5S is the one single component on a shopfloor which brings in maximum savings on lean implementation. For that matter any lean implementation either on a manufacturing shopfloor or an office should first start with 5S  implementation.
