Crime against native Indians of N America ..

Only a great and sensible mind like that of Martin Luther King does have the courage to call a spade a spade ...
Martin Luther King Jr., a very
sensible personality ..
"Our nation was born in genocide when it embraced the doctrine that the original American, the Indian, was an inferior race. Even before there were large numbers of Negroes on our shore, the scar of racial hatred had already disfigured colonial society. From the sixteenth century forward, blood flowed in battles over racial supremacy.
We are perhaps the only nation which tried as a matter of national policy to wipe out its indigenous population. Moreover, we elevated that tragic experience into a noble crusade. Indeed, even today we have not permitted ourselves to reject or feel remorse for this shameful episode.
Our literature, our films, our drama, our folklore all exalt it. Our children are still taught to respect the violence which reduced a red-skinned people of an earlier culture into a few fragmented groups herded into impoverished reservations"- Martin Luther King Jr.

Strong words from the black leader Martin luther. It is not that there are no sensible voices inside US pricking the conscience of the average American.

Isin't it a shame on Americans ? Why is it that nobody is protesting it ? is it really a shame to wrong earlier actions of ones forefathers done of a racist mindset and ignorance ? Have US citizens ever thought that their land was founded on blood and violence ?

Nazis of Germany killed only 6 million Jews out of racial hatred ( a similar fascist attitude is being displayed by the ignorant fascists in India under the extreme right wing fundamentalists ) but the forefathers of the present generation of the original US immigrants exterminated many many more . Historians say from a population of 50 million in US around 1492, a community which was extremely proud of its roots, culture and beliefs, the final decimation of their numbers is nothing but a shock and an eternal blow on the conscience of the world ( except for the residents of US).

The world is surprised at the massacre of the original owners of North America, the natives by the immigrant from Europe over 522 years ever since the first westerner landed.  Americans say this decimation was not entirely an act of oppression or war, they take refuge in the theory that illness and poor immunity of native Indians to measles, smallpox etc. killed most of them. But who brought the germs, bacteria and virus from Europe ? Why were the natives not given treatment and let to die on their own ?

The native Indian population dwindled to less than 10 % in the present times as per 2010 census, just 5 million, ie 45 million have been wiped out from planet earth in 500 years. Some historians even put the numbers at 95 million in 500 years .. Out of a population of 314 million in US, only 5 million are the original owners of the land. How sad !! US talks of being the greatest democracy in the world.

We have to ask this question now, who have carried out the greatest genocide against fellow humans in world history ? Is it the Germans or the immigrants who settled in America ? Why are Americans not accepting the truth and guilt of their genocide even now ? Where are they taking that country now ?  Why are they not ready to accept that  any act of violence will have an equally cruel reaction, time is the only factor.

Out of ignorance and poor knowledge of world history when immigrants from all parts of the world come to settle in someone else's land, are they not ensuring that their progeny will be wiped out for no fault of theirs ?

For some ignorance is still a bliss !!
