ISB in the news for wrong reasons ..

First it was Prof Ram Mohan Rao from IIMB and now Mr Rajat Gupta, from McKensie, the Chairman Board of Governors.

http://george-easaw.blogspot.com/2009/01/prof-ram-mohan-rao-quits-as-dean-of-isb.html

Sad that all big names are being caught for issues on ethics .. Rajat misused his position to favour his friend on some investment plans of a client of his earlier firm and benefit from the plans monetarily..

Maybe it is a stark reminder that values are a casulaty everywhere when some earthly things take over human concerns.

People's response to Assange's disclosures ..

Assange created a flutter in world media by disclosing some cables sent by US diplomats and heads of state to and from their respective embassies abroad which he managed to steal from some government computers some time back, without getting caught.

The people will give it only the attention and importance it deserves. Expecting people and representatives to take it as bible and create stir and in the process make him more famous and all-important was too much to expect from this guy.

Stolen material, the source of which is stil not disclosed shal be treated as such, shit, by the discerning public in the country. period.

The internet / social networking revolution and global government ..

The Internet and social networking has been found these days to be having a strangling effect on dictatorships, secular or otherwise and monarchies, sadly we find these are found more in Arab countries and countries with communist influence like China ad North Korea.

Does this bode well for humanity to see so many rulers, dictators and kings being displaced, replaced and banished in such short time ..

As there is no group of people or politicians who are spearheading these efforts in the different countries of the world and democracy is the single need for people across geographies and time zones, does this mean that with democracy catching up, we are gearing for a global democratic government ?

Your comments are welcome in this regard.

Events which changed history of Kerala .. Vasco's arrival ..

Vasco arriving at the sea coast at Kappad near Calicut in 1498 AD ..

Vasco De Gama presenting the letter from King of Portugal to Zamorin of Calicut.

This paved the way for other Western forces to enter India, namely the Dutch, English and French who conquered and ruled over parts of India till around 1947 - 1962 AD.

We are overcoming the harmful effects of this invasion now ...
