How the global economic system got stabilised post Second World War ..

Washington Hotel, Bretton Woods ..

Towards the end of the second World War, in 1944, global nations got together at Bretton Woods New Hampshire to discuss on how to stabilise the global economy and the economy of the individual allied nations.

The United Nations played a key role in this meeting and hence it was called the United Nations Monetary and Financial Conference, also called the Bretton Woods Conference as it was held in Bretton Woods..

The news reel excerpt briefly describes the International Monetary Conference of 1944 (before WW2 ended), held at the Mount Washington Hotel in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire. This conference led to the birth of International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank in 1944.
